The state-owned telecom company, BSNL is launching newer schemes to stay relevant in the current market. As we are aware of the tariff war initiated by Reliance Jio, BSNL has launched two new ‘rate-cutter’ packs.
According to the new packs, BSNL is offering low-cost voice calls to any network. The plans are available for its prepaid customers. The packs are as cheap as Rs 8 and Rs 15. Moreover, prepaid users will have no liability of paying any large amount of fixed monthly charges, says R.K. Mittal, Director, BSNL Board.
Looking more into the intricacies of the packs. The Rs 8 BSNL pack lowers the tariff of calls made on the same network to 15 paisa per minute while calls to other networks will cost 35 paisa per minute. The plan is applicable at a Pan India level. Furthermore, the plan comes with a validity of 30 days. The other pack of Rs 15 pack offers the same call rates, but has validity of 90 days.
Last month, the government-run telecom company, BSNL introduced economical plans as well. The data packs start from Rs. 20, Rs. 40, Rs. 60 and go up to Rs. 80. Additionally, the call balance plans offer a talk-time of Rs 130 for a recharge of Rs. 120. Likewise, users get a full talk-time, with a recharge of Rs. 220.
Besides this, the state owned telco has launched several data and call packages. The latest one is a Rs 429 pack, which offers 1GB of 3G data per day and unlimited local and STD calls for 90 days. This is in competition to the Rs 399 plan offered by reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. The telecom giants are giving 1 GB 4G data with unlimited calls to any network, with a validity of 84 days.
