Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, popularly known as BSNL has declared that the company is going to increase its minimum broadband speed very soon under its unlimited broadband. As per the given information, the company is changing its default broadband speed to 10 Mbps previously the broadband speed was 4 Mbps. The state-run telecom and internet service provider BSNL is yet to announce this information officially. This information was tweeted by a telecom analyst Sanjay Bafna. In the post, Bafna also added some screenshots of this upcoming changes in BSNL’s broadband speed. The information also says BSNL will roll out the plan on 1st November 2017.
As the report has not proved to be true, it seems that the company is planning to bring some changes to its previous broadband speed. In May, BSNL had increased its broadband speed to 4 Mbps from 2 Mbps. This speed is only applicable for those who have taken BSNL’s Rs. 675 plan or above plans. The users have to pay Fixed Monthly Charges of Rs. 675 for this.
But as per the new information tweeted by Bafna, the customers who have purchased Rs 675 plan or less than this can also be able to increase their broadband speed to 8 Mbps from 2 Mbps. It will be good news for every BSNL customers. It is also said that upload speed of this broadband will be increased to 2 Mbps from 1 Mbps. In the past, the speed was 512 kbps, and later this was increased to 2 Mbps.
This type of changes in broadband speed, no doubt will less effective for the Tier I and Tier II cites’ people. After such development also the internet connection speed in rural areas are still low. Since many years, BSNL has been providing best broadband services in many cities and village. Even though many companies have started to provide broadband services, this speed will be very helpful for millions of BSNL customers.
