BSNL Rumored to Launch Its Own Feature Phone at Rs 2,000 in Collaboration With Lava, Micromax

In the style of Reliance Jio and Airtel, state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is likely to roll out a new feature phone.  It would be priced around Rs. 2000.  What’s more, you could get attractive freebies right out-of-the-box.

BSNL has partnered with the home-grown mobile brands Micromax and Lava for this newfangled venture.  The trio are collectively working to put forth the budget friendly phone by October.

Anupam Shrivastava, chairman of BSNL made the report official with his remarkable declaration.  “Our strategy is away from procurement. We are trying to come up with our own bundled phone equipments and in about a month time, you will see co-branded feature phones with various manufactures will come,” he said.

The exact price of this latest development from BSNL is still under review by the three collaborators.  However, it would supposedly round off to a total of Rs. 2000.  A top executive of the firm shared their viewpoint.  There hasn’t been any confirmation on this newscast though.

On the other side, BSNL’s imminent feature phone would gift you with unlimited free voice calls facility.   “We are tying up with device makers such as Lava and Micromax to come up with own model of co-branded bundled feature phones with very aggressive voice packages,” Shrivastava added.

BSNL is running neck-to-neck with the Reliance Jio in terms of the alluring tariff plans.  But, here it might suffer a setback.  Its forthcoming co-branded feature phone does not support the 4G services.  The telecom firm is yet to establish its 4G network in the home country.

Nonetheless, this team-up with BSNL would supposedly lift up the lost elan of the domestic mobile firms.  Lava and Micromax had been losing its grip over the smartphone share since the arrival of the Chines counterparts.  Xiaomi, Vivo, Gionee are believed to have taken over the revenue from the local brands in India.  Now is the time to see a change.
