To make any international national call, a customer needs to have ISD facility on his mobile phone. As per directive of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), no customer avail this facility by default, but to apply exclusively. TRAI asked all telecom regulators to provide ISD facility explicitly after a request from the subscriber, as it has received a number of complaints from many subscribers that they have received missed calls from international numbers when called they used to charge heavily as they are premium numbers.
A BSNL customer can activate ISD facility on his prepaid mobile by simply sending an SMS. Here’s the detailed procedure to activate & deactivate ISD facility on BSNL Prepaid Mobile.
Procedure to activate & deactivate ISD facility on BSNL Prepaid Mobile:
- Type ACT ISD and send it to 53733 from Mobile for Activation of BSNL ISD facility.
- Type DEACT ISD and send it to 53733 from Mobile for De-Activation of BSNL ISD facility.
On the other hand, to activate ISD facility on a postpaid BSNL mobile connection, customer need to go to nearest customer service center(CSC) to make a formal application and has to pay a deposit Rs.2000 as a security deposit.
These SMS code facility is valid for all the telecom circles of BSNL which includes Andaman Nicobar, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bangalore TD, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Chennai TD, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Hyderabad TD, Jammu Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, NE I, NE II, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, Telangana, UP East, UP West, Uttaranchal and West Bengal.
